Maca Orbs!

I love the simplicity of energy balls… They are so quick and simple to make, they’re super healthy for you and the best bit, they’re delicious. It’s like having cake for breakfast… although, of course these little energy bursts aren’t restricted to breakfast time.

We make a wide range of flavours of energy balls. Once you have the consistency right I recommend you just go and get creative… find your favourite flavours and mix and match them together.

Maca Orbs are one of my personal favourites.


They’ve got a wonderful malty, almost marzipan like flavour that I just love and its nice to have a change from the usual chocolate flavours.

It’s best to use a food processor but if you don’t have one you can easily buy your almond ready ground, use a ready milled seed and flax mix and just finely chop your dates… The food processor is just quicker but not by much.

So here goes for one of the most simple sweet recipes you’ll ever make…

Maca Orbs


  • 4 Seed Mix – 1 part
  • Ground Almond – 1 part
  • Maca Powder – 1 dessert spoon
  • 5 Chopped Dates
  • Tahini – 2 dessert spoons (or more)
  • Salt (optional)

1: Add 1 cup of seeds (I like to use flax, sunflower, pumpkin and sesame) to the food processor and blend for a few seconds until chopped but still ‘crunchy’

2: Add 1 cup of ready ground almonds to the mix (if using unground almonds – fine grind these on the pulse setting first and then add the seeds), a good dose of maca powder (a heaped dessert spoon or more) and a pinch of salt (optional). Mix it all together.

3: Add 5 chopped dates and mix

4: Add 2 dessert spoons of tahini and mix. Add more tahini until the mix easily sticks together and you can roll in your hand. If it becomes too sticky just add a bit more ground almond until you get an easily rolled consistency.

5: Roll into walnut sized balls and place in the fridge to set for 5 mins
