Sunshine and Turmeric

As the name might suggest… this smoothie combo has an added turmeric twist ๐Ÿ™‚ We love adding curry spices to our smoothies… gram masala goes well with berries, star anise and chilli is delicious too and turmeric is one of our favourites. Plus, its super good for you ๐Ÿ™‚

What’s in it…

Yellow ‘Base’ Smoothie

  • 1 Whole Mango
  • 2 Bananas
  • 1 Heaped Table Spoon of Pea Protein (optional)
  • 1 Cup of Almond Milk (or water, etc)

Put all the ingredients into a blender and mix… then remove two thirds of the mix.

The Orange Smoothie

  • Half the Yellow Smoothie Mix
  • 2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • Pinch of Black Pepper

With the third of the mix remaining in the blender… add the turmeric and black pepper and blend. Remove and give the blender a quick rinse.

The Pink Smoothie

  • Quarter the Yellow Smoothie Mix
  • 1 Cup of Strawberries
  • 1 Cup of Blackberries or Blueberries (or more strawberries!)

Finally add a third of the two thirds originally removed back into the blend and mix with whatever dark berries you prefer.

Chia Layer

  • 2 tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 1-2 Cups of Almond Milk

This is best done first, or even better… an hour or so before you want to eat it. Put the chia seeds into a bowl, add almond milk to cover and mix so all the seeds in the milk. Regularly agitate the mix and as the chia’s soak up the milk, add more milk until its a good ‘gloopy’ consistency

What Next…

Layer up! Mix in some fruits, nuts and/or toasted oats and delicious layers of smoothie and chia. This is a SUPER filling breakfast.
